Brain Check
Includes the following blood tests to check for early warning signs of dementia:
p-Tau217 (Phosphorylated tau 217) – a biomarker that measures phosphorylated tau 217, a protein associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
NfL (neurofilament light) – a biomarker that tells us whether there is ongoing damage to our brain cells from vascular disease, head trauma, or any neurodegenerative process.
GFAP (glial fibrillary acidic protein) – a biomarker of ongoing inflammation and repair in the brain.
Note: These tests are not intended to provide a diagnosis, but to detect early signs leading to Alzheimer’s dementia to provide the opportunity for preventative strategies.
Please note, This blood work panel requires you to complete testing at a local draw site. You will not need a physical test kit to complete your draw.
