Please note, this test is performed by LabCorp and will not require a physical test kit to complete your draw. DHA Laboratory will send you a list of local LabCorp Patient Service Centers, patient prep instructions and a requisition form via email. Please print the requisition form and bring that in with you to LabCorp to complete your draw. Cystatin C may be used as another option to creatinine and creatinine clearance to screen for and monitor kidney dysfunction in those with known or suspected kidney disease. It may be especially useful for example where creatinine measurement is not needed, for example, in those who have liver cirrhosis, are very obese, are malnourished, or have reduced muscle mass. Having a Cystatin C test done may also be beneficial in the early detection of kidney disease when other test results may still be normal and an affected person may have few, if any, symptoms.

Patient Preparation: Overnight fasting is preferred.
