Please note, this test is performed by LabCorp and will not require a physical test kit to complete your draw. DHA Laboratory will send you a list of local LabCorp Patient Service Centers, patient prep instructions and a requisition form via email. Please print the requisition form and bring that in with you to LabCorp to complete your draw. The Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) Antibodies to Viral Capsid Antigen (VCA), IgG blood test is used to help diagnose EBV infection. This is the most common cause of infectious mononucleosis (mono), if a person is symptomatic but has a negative mono test. The EBV test may be ordered for an asymptomatic patient to see if that patient has been exposed to EBV or is at risk to a primary EBV infection.
