DHA Laboratory will send you a list of local LabCorp Patient Service Centers, patient prep instructions and a requisition form via email. Please print the requisition form and bring that in with you to LabCorp to complete your draw. The Reticulocyte Count test can help evaluate erythropoietic activity which is increased in acute and chronic hemorrhage, and hemolytic anemias. It can also evaluate erythropoietic response to antianemic therapy. A reticulocyte count measures the number of reticulocytes (blood cells that are still developing) in the blood. If the count is too high or too low, it can mean a serious health problem, including anemia and disorders of the bone marrow, liver, and kidneys.
